FAP provides a safe environment for family members who are at risk for family violence. Shelter is provided until a plan can be arranged. The length of stay varies with each case.
When families involved in the Family Advocacy Program need a break from stressful child-rearing situations, FAP can provide short-term child care.
New Parent Support Program (NPSP)
This program provides support for parents who are currently expecting or with children under the age of three. NPSP provides support and education services which enhance parenting and child management skills. The program teaches parents basic skills in physical care, protection, supervision and psychological nurturance appropriate to the child's age and stage of development. The program also provides parents with direct services, to include hospital and home visits, preparations for childbirth and the new demands of a baby, and referrals to community support services and resources. The program is one of the many services within the Family Advocacy Program.
Some aspects of this program include:
Mom & Me: Dad Too
Tot Time
Story Time
Home Visitation services to offer in-home support to our families
