Center Library is your resource for knowledge, communication and entertainment.
The library has 23 high-speed public access internet computers, Wi-Fi for laptops, a children's collection, an activities room, copying service, individual study areas, and a digital scanner. We offer free FAX service to all toll free and DSN numbers as well as incoming FAX service at a nominal fee. The Library also offers free monthly/seasonal programming for our community’s children. The library's collection includes: 58,250 books, 2000 DVD's, 1350 audio-books on CD, 1300 music CD's, subscriptions to 112 newspapers and magazines, 140 video games, foreign language books, Rosetta Stone learning tapes, science fiction & fantasy, travel guides, Christian fiction, a young adult section and framed art for circulation. With graphic novels, large print books, and the summer reading program, there is something for every reader, as well as special activities, children's story time and guest speaker events. An automated card catalog and circulation system connected to the Center Library and the Aviation Technical Library makes it easy to find what you need. Story time, a program that enhances parent-child interactions, is held every Friday except federal holidays and DONSA days. This program stimulates motor, language, intellect, and socio-emotional development for children ages 2-4 years. Additionally, the program provides an outlet for parents to socialize and share parenting information.
Center Library is also proud to offer its patrons free university and licensure examination proctor service as well as reference assistance for all personal and academic research requirements. We currently have a certified State of Alabama Master Gardner on staff to offer advice and assistance in your landscape and gardening endeavors. We also have a skilled family history researcher on duty. Whatever your informational and entertainment needs, please allow the excellent staff of the Center Library the privilege of serving you often. As with all FMWR programming, Center Library is EFMP friendly!
