The Financial Readiness Program (FRP) provides information,
education and support to military families regarding financial
management and consumer issues. We offer a wide range of services to
soldiers, families and units.

Basic Financial Education Program
Financial Readiness Training (FRT)
Mandatory for first-term PVT-SPC/CPL permanent party soldiers,
within 60 days of in-processing. This class provides participants
with a practical approach to financial management enabling them to
gain control over their finances and manage money effectively. In
addition to principals of personal finance, other main topics taught
include military pay, allowances and benefits; planning and
budgeting; banking and checking; using credit; insurance; savings
and investing; large purchases; and consumer scams and getting help.
Classes are taught on the first Friday of each month (except
holidays), from 0730 – 1615 hours.
Check Writing and Maintenance Class
Mandatory refresher training for personnel who have abused and
misused check cashing privileges. This class is offered as needed,
based upon command referral.
Unit Financial Readiness Training
Classes offered include Banking & Checking Account Maintenance;
Budget Development & Record Keeping; Use & Abuse of Credit Debt;
Insurance; Savings & Investing; Financial Planning; Consumer Rights
& Obligations; Home Buying & Selling; Car Buying & Maintenance; and
Identity Theft.
Financial Counseling Program
Provides budget development and financial planning for the future or
for those who are experiencing or anticipating financial
difficulties.
Credit Report Counseling Program
Assists military consumers obtain, read and understand their
credit report.
Debt Liquidation Assistance Program
Provides assistance in development of repayment plan to liquidate
debt and facilitates agreements between military families and their
creditors.
Consumer Complaint Resolution/Better Business Bureau
Assists in mediating consumer complaints and provides information
regarding consumer issues, consumer rights and protection laws. If
you have a complaint against a local business or company, you may
pick up a DA Form 5184, Consumer Complaint, form from our office or you may
download a DA Form 5148 and bring it to our office. FRP also
maintains pamphlets, booklets, and information fact sheets on a
variety of consumer issues.
Emergency Food Voucher Program
Provides vouchers to military families experiencing
emergencies or unexpected financial difficulties.
These vouchers may only be redeemed at the
Installation Commissary and assistance is intended
to provide groceries for short -term situations.
Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA)
Assists with pre-screening and counseling to determine eligibility.
